Kids create art from nature: The environmental school will show kids how to make unconventional pieces of art

“Karena Harvey’s mother was teaching “found music” to students at the environmental school in Maple Ridge – making music with things you find in nature.  As a volunteer art teacher with the school, Harvey – whose daughter attends the program – picked up on the idea and led the students in a “found art” session, making art from leaves, sticks, flowers – anything found outside in nature.  The idea was so successful, it made even kids who didn’t think they were “so artistic” re-examine their esthetic abilities.
